To accommodate a special Sustainable Meetings Conference edition of the #eventtable Twitter chat next week, the chat will change from it’s regularly scheduled time of 3 pm est, to 5 pm est Monday April 22 and will focus on takeaways from the conference.
The Sustainable Meetings Conference, hosted by the Green Meetings Industry Council (GMIC), is an opportunity for planners and suppliers to address sustainability issues in the events industry.
The conference will embed the framework of the APEX/ASTM sustainable meeting standards in an interactive environment that explores measurement techniques, reporting methods, sustainable supply chain management, hybrid meeting technologies and the significance of sustainability strategy on a global level.
Last year the conference gained notoriety for it’s innovative GAME ON! theme that applied gaming theory principles to the conference design. This year’s event will also make use of gaming theory principles. Participants will experience a customized mobile application technology, experiential learning tracks, case study integration, and virtual access elements.
This year’s keynote speaker, John Picard, served as Sustainability Director for Live Earth, the largest multi-city concert in history to focus on climate change. Picard is also renowned for conceptualizing and building hundreds of the world’s smartest homes, workplaces and communities; is a founding member of the U.S. Green Building Council; and is responsible for Greening the White House during the Clinton/Gore administration.
Join us on the next #eventtable Twitter chat, Monday at 5 pm est, to discuss attendee takeaways from this innovative conference. For easier participation, log in to Tweet Chat and type in the #eventtable hashtag.
