We’ve talked here about some of our favorite tools for doing that—but on this week’s #ContentChat, the discussion focused on Paper.li, a content curation tool used by digital marketers around the world.
Content curation is the process of discovering, gathering, and presenting content on a particular topic or area of interest. When you’re curating content, you’re compiling material from different sources, and presenting it to your community in a way they can easily use.
When you practice ontent curation, you’re really helping to supplement, complement, and expand upon the content you produce yourself. It’s a great way of adding value to your original content, without having to be constantly creating it yourself.
And the added bonus? When you compile the best available content in your field, you’re creating a news hub—you’re establishing your own authority in your field, and creating a reliable place where members of your community know they can count on for up-to-the-minute info.
Paper.li: A key content curation tool
One of the most popular content curation tools is Paper.li, and we were fortunate to have Kelly Hungerford, Paper.li’s Head of Customer Experience and Community, on board to answer questions and point #ContentChat members toward relevant examples.
Kelly offered some great tips and insights into the content curation process, shared some popular brands that are using Paper.li as part of their content marketing strategy, and discussed some best practices to help get you started.
Of course, #ContentChat couldn’t happen without our awesome (and growing!) chat community, so you’ll probably notice some familiar voices in this summary…maybe even your own!
Here’s how it all went down:
