What are the advantages of using social media to enhance your corporate event and what are some methods that work? These were some of the questions participants on the April 30 #Eventtable chat addressed.
Our special guest was Jill Drury of Drury Design Dynamics who has developed social media strategies specifically for corporate events. Jill is such a great believer that she is often the one persuading clients to adopt these strategies.
Chat participants shared their insights on why social media is so important for corporate events but also how to avoid pitfalls such as social media cliques. At corporate events, social media can provide real time newsfeeds; facilitate much more targeted networking; provide a valuable avenue for immediate attendee feedback; build a feeling of community and much more.
Jill Drury shared some of the techniques she’s used, including Social Media Swarm Teams, to help educate attendees and to encourage them to use social media in new and different ways that enhance their experience as well as contribute to the event social media discourse.
